We form an outsourcing studio to help developers make their games faster, while raising artistic, emotional and production value.

We concept design and create fully functional, performance friendly 3d game assets and environments.
Also providing assistance in game development itself, accessing project repositories and work in game engines.

In our core is a small, collaborative, quality and self-development oriented savvy team, which consists of both game dev veterans and bold young artists.

Unity Senior Environment Artist (Freelance)

As a freelance Unity Senior Environment Artist, you will be working remotely on project assignment-base, from anywhere in the world and with nearly full flexibility in regard to working hours.
Joining us in creating expansion gameplay arenas for the critically acclaimed, realistic in style, VR game titled Hard Bullet, developed in Unity for Oculus Quest 3.


Responsibilities and Expectations:
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following: 

- Creating interesting, appealing and performance friendly combat arenas (locations) of high artistic value and technical quality, by working independently and collaboratively with other artists and level designers.
- Implementing, setting up and curating 3d assets from our assets library and marketplaces.
- Creating bespoke 3d assets when needed. Occasionally working with destructible and interactive assets.
- Optimising polycount, number of mat IDs and creating custom UV lightmaps.
- Replacing provided greybox with a prototype before building final structures and set dressing spaces with assets.
- Implementing and setting up materials in Unity using PackedLit for Bakery.
- Creating collisions for structures and props.
- Creating occluders using Perfect Culling.
- Providing frequent updates and participating in feedback loops, playtesting and performance profiling.
- Taking ownership of visual aspects of environments and related assets, by reassuring their quality and compatibility throughout production, until final sign off.
- Knowing and expressing production needs that can speed up development.

Enriching and maintaining overall visual game design, creating interesting and believable assets within technical constraints.


Skills & Requirements:

- Skills representing 6+ years of relevant professional experience as an artist and a portfolio supporting it.
- Among multiple titles you worked on, at least one that was released, was made in Unity Engine and VR.
- Proficiency and experience with full production cycle of game environments and 3d assets.

- Experience working in both environments; office studio and from home as a freelancer.
- Understanding the importance of communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Growth mindset. Critical and independent thinking.
- High level of creativity and independence with little oversight.
- Being a self driven and assertive individual with developed good tasks and time management skills & practices.
- Proven ability to prioritise and execute ideas within a time schedule and other production requirements.
- Successfully handling undertaken scope of work and responsibilities, while working with a bigger picture in mind.

- Strong foundation of art skills.
- Understanding of composition, form, colour and light in relation to crafting environments.
- Understanding what makes the environment interesting, believable and appealing.
- Great sense of spatial relations, structural logic, colours, composition, purpose, form and styles.
- Ability to provide clear and consistent feedback and critique based on art direction and any technical considerations.
- Experience with and strong understanding of current generation production pipelines and workflows.
- Strong understanding of modular asset creation and use workflows.
- Understanding of level design requirements and meaning of gameplay and storytelling in environment creation.
- Strong narrative and environmental storytelling skills with regards to set dressing and world building.
